At Sunshine & Poppies Press, we believe children’s books can open doors to big ideas. Our mission is to inspire little readers to see the world in new ways and imagine possibilities beyond the ordinary.

Based in Ontario, Canada, we create eco-friendly board books for ages 0–3. Our debut collection, the Little Life Series, introduces real-world jobs through whimsical woodland characters — a bear lumberjack, a fox beekeeper, a bunny baker, and more. These playful stories spark curiosity and encourage kids to think about all the unique ways people work, create, and contribute.

Each book is made with care, using FSC-certified board, soy-based inks, and water-based lamination. With a one-word-per-page format and earthy, boho-inspired illustrations, our books are simple enough for tiny hands yet meaningful enough to spark big conversations.

We want families to see beyond “typical” careers and celebrate the wide variety of jobs that make the world go round — from the everyday to the unexpected. Our minimalist, boho-style board books pair gentle colours with career themes that inspire curiosity and imagination.

Sunshine & Poppies Press grew from a story of love, loss and renewal — “Sunshine” for my son, whose light still guides every creative step, and “Poppies” for the blossoms that remind me that joy can bloom again.
